A fitting tribute…

28 06 2012

It’s a glorious day here in London.

The sun is shining.

You can feel the happy mood of Londoners as a result.

Unfortunately you can also smell it.

Anyway, I popped down to Green Park today.

The Queen was unveiling a memorial to the airmen of Bomber Command who died during WWII.

Over 55,000 of the poor chaps.

Puts things into perspective.

A day at the office could mean giving up your life for something you believe in so that your family, friends and people who you will never meet or know will benefit.

You hope.

In addition to the unveiling, there was a flypast by five GR4 Tornados, which were followed by a Lancaster bomber that dropped poppies over Green Park (see video link below).

After listening to the Last Post and feeling the goosebumps, it was time to return to the office.

Time to return to normality.

See the video here – sorry it’s a bit blurred.
